HappyScooper is a foldable dog waste scooper built to remove two parts of cleanup most dog owners dislike: touching waste through a bag and bending down every time the dog stops. Its long handle, trigger and claw let you approach the mess while staying more upright.
The EasyGrip™ claw system uses a dual spring-loaded mechanism that opens and closes from the handle. Position the claw over the waste, squeeze the trigger and the jaws close around it, allowing pickup without putting your hand directly around the bagged mess.
A standard dog waste bag fits over the claw before pickup, so the bag forms the barrier between the scooper and the waste. After collection, tie off the bag and dispose of it normally. The built-in collection area helps keep the pickup contained during that process.
The serrated pickup teeth are designed for common walking surfaces including grass, turf, gravel and pavement. That makes HappyScooper useful for the backyard, park, sidewalk or curb, while very loose surfaces such as sand and unusually soft waste can be less ideal.
HappyScooper extends to about 17 inches (45 cm) for upright use and folds to about 9 inches (23 cm) for carrying. At roughly 6.8 oz (195 g), it is lightweight enough for regular walks, a tote or a leash-side carry setup.
